At A Glance

For the past 03 years, there has been a dramatic improvement in the health sector of Trishal Upazila. The neonatal mortality rate has been reduced to 15, which had been 16 in 2018 (SVRS-2019). Maternal mortality has been reduced to 165 per lac live birth, compared to 189 in 2018 (SRVS-2019). TUBERCULOSIS & KALA-AZAR have been in check. For the development of rural people's health, 46 Community Clinics are fully functioning with adequate manpower and medicine supply. In the last 03 years, 26 Doctors, more than 10 Senior Staff Nurses and 08 Midwives have been appointed by the Government here. Institutional delivery has increased. Delivery by Caesarian Section is being carried on in a regular basis. 24 hour Doctors are available and outdoor based medicine supply has also been increased. Information technology has been introduced in health management and thus online reporting of the institute has also increased significantly. E-health service and telemedicine services are soon going to be started. In order to face the COVID pandemic, RAPID ANTIGEN TEST (RAT) has been made available in this upazila as well as 05 bedded Isolation Unit has been kept ready. Central Oxygen Line (Manifold System) has been put up. Gene Xpert machine has been established, Kala-azar patients from whole district and even sometimes from other districts also come for treatment here. There is a trial to increase the bed number from 50 to 100 in near future.
